The Group’s Gold Tax Department is one of the units which initiating the Gold Tax Project of the State, and one of the members of the Gold Tax Project Leading Team. The team consists of four governmental ministries or commissions - State Administration of Taxation, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Electronics Industry, and the Bank of China, and three enterprises - Stone, Great Wall, and China Astronautics

In December 1996, the Department and the Beijing Municipal State Tax Bureau entered into the Beijing Municipal Government Service Unit Agreement, after which the Department successively established services units in Beijing, Nel Mongol, Shenzhen, Yunnan, and Zhejiang. At present, with more than 30,000 corporate users in Beijing, it acts as a technological cooperation unit of State taxation authorities to promote a system to prevent value-added tax forgery. The services provided include user training for the anti-forgery tax control system, installation of equipment with specific purpose, and after-sale maintenance. The Department is transforming itself from an IT product supplier to an IT product service provider.
